Established under Legal Notice No. 28 of April 2019 in accordance with the Water Act 2016, Tana Water Works Development Agency (TWWDA)—formerly the Tana Water Services Board—is one of Kenya’s nine water works dedicated to securing water and sanitation infrastructure that sustains livelihoods in our jurisdiction area. Managing a vast jurisdiction of 17,189.7 Km^2 across Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Embu, Tharaka Nithi, and Meru counties, TWWDA develops and maintains robust public water works that directly impact over 3.9 million people, treating this vital resource as the lifeblood of our communities with precision.
